It seems like yesterday that I was unpacking my suitcase and shoving it under my bed. In a few weeks, I will be pulling it out again, but this time to figure out how I will fit everything back into it. We just celebrated Thanksgiving, and so I think it’s fitting to write this. As I’ve gotten older, Thanksgiving has become one of my favorite holidays as it is a time to reflect on the many things—whether big or small—that we can and should be grateful for.
I AM THANKFUL FOR:
My family & friends who have supported me from the beginning when I told them I was leaving my teaching job
My parents for their love & prayers and for believing in what God had planted in me so many years ago
My sister--for our friendship, for being the amazingly beautiful person that she is, for our countless Facetime chats these past several months, and so much more.
My girlfriends back in the States for making me feel like I’m still a part of their lives even though I am thousands of miles away
My prayer partners for interceding for me and their encouragement & love
Whether you gave one-time or give monthly, this would not be possible without you. It is humbling to watch everything come together.
The ER staff that I work with for their dedication, passion, and desire to reach the younger generation for Christ, all the while helping them fulfill their passions & dreams.
The missionaries that I’ve met while being here. Their stories are inspiring, and their hearts are indeed after the Father’s.
My Victory small group girls. For accepting me, for helping me overcome homesickness, for their friendships, and the countless Monday nights that we have spent together.
The Philippines--for the people, the culture, and everything that makes up this beautiful country. It truly is another place that I can call home.
This moment that the Father has brought me to and for what is to come: the Dominican Republic, Destiny Rescue, for the girls we will be working with and pouring into, and so much more…
