I believe there is something significant in the number three. Actually, I know there is. It’s the number that makes up the Trinity. It’s the number of days that Jonas was in the belly of the whale. It’s the number of times that Peter denied Jesus. It’s the number of days that Jesus was in the grave before He rose again.

This number has personal meaning to me as well. It was the number of days that I spent praying for confirmation to leave my teaching job to follow the calling that the Father had placed on my heart. It was the number of times that the Father asked me, “Do you trust me?” as I drove home from work one day and was tossing things around in my head regarding my choice to leave my dream job.

It’s the number of days passed since last Friday when one of our girls returned to our care. It was a “prodigal son” moment, but I prefer to call it a “prodigal daughter” moment. She was hugged by everyone and welcomed back into the Home. We celebrated with ice cream and, the next day, went on an outing to a local beach.

This was the first week that all four girls attended classes in the LC. (Previously, only two girls were attending classes.) It is challenging, and it already has its moments, but it’s a challenge that I enjoy. The girls love their math and English tutorials, and I am very proud of their progress. Of all the classes, discipleship/ Christian studies or “Bible study” has proven to be the most challenging. This is because one of the girls is just learning how to read. But, with that being said, we have already had some excellent discussions as to what it means to be “adopted by God” to be a “child of God” and a “friend of God.”

Things to PRAY for:

  • The past several nights, many of the girls have had nightmares. A few days ago, we prayed over them regarding this. Some of the girls are also battling serious inner strongholds. Please pray for these to be broken off in the name of Jesus!

  • I have been drained this past week. Please pray that I get the rest that I need to go about my busy day.

  • Please pray that we can find another security guard for nighttime shifts. We currently only have one, and when their day off rolls around, this puts us in a pickle.

PRAISES & BLESSINGS:

  • The beginning of something great. We are officially receiving “regular” Internet next week!!

  • We now have two daytime security guards at the Home and are in the process of hiring a third house mom :)

  • On Tuesday, the girls started their first jewelry-making class! My Director has had several years of experience in the jewelry-making business. It is our goal to eventually sell the jewelry that the girls design in the States. This will teach not only the girls a skill but also the value of money. We have some very artistic girls on our hands!
